Boost gauge?

I'm looking to buy a Cobb AccessPORT V1.0 for my WRX and after reading the notes on the maps for 05 WRXs I feel like I should look into getting one. The notes from Cobbs website tell you what your boost should be running at and I have no gauge to tell me that. Can anyone help me out?

A boost gauge is a pretty helpful device. I would recommend getting one.

with a AP, it's crucial to get one. You want to make sure you're hitting optimal boost!

Be careful though: i got a ticket the first day i had mine...I was trying to see what my boost peaks at.

You can also take live boost readings with the AP plugged in while driving the car if you don't have a boost gauge. I did this...a second person helps though. It can be tough to read that screen with the pedal to the floor.

If you look around on here there are several wite ups on boost gauge installation. I'm not sure what a shop would charge, but if you like to try things tourself I suggest you give it a shot. Boost gauge installation is one of the easier gauges to install.

DO you have a url for a howto with pics? im confuse about where to get the power and where to plug the little hose

It depends on if you get a mechanical or electrical gauge. For a mechanical gauge all you need to do is run and tap the hose and then hook up the power and ground for the light in the gauge. The best spot for tapping for the gauge illumination is behind the radio. There is an unused plug that works for the lighting. The optimal place to tap the hose into would be in the By pass valve line. I will try and find a write up for you.
