    You can even get a noticeable difference in SQ of a burned cd if you have a slower computer or if you do a bunch of stuff while it's burning. Any cds burned with a newer drive using the latest version of ezcd or nero shouldn't cause any problems with the player actually recognizing them.

    Kanchou - Be careful with 48X+ burning, because like you said the cds can easily shatter and while they're spinning that fast, you can seriously fVck up your drive and possibly something else in your computer. All it takes is one little impossibly tiny pressure crack....

    I also only use CD-R's burned by yours truely in my stock cd player and I have NEVER had a problem. But I have to burn them at 4X, because I own an ancient HP CD Writer Plus 9100. Just my $.02

    Hahaha, my g/f has that same burner, things a piece of crap but does its job. I used it for a backup burner when mine was punked out.
