confusedddd how do u change the shift knob on an 06wrx

ok my problem is the shifter boot in attached to the shift knob so how can i change the knob with out changing the boot? probally something im missing but anyy advice

all you do is pull down on the boot and itll pop off then you just twist off the knob and twist the new 1 on

Unscrew the whole thing from the rod...Pinch the area of the boot that is attached to the actual knob....Pull/ twist off....Voilla!!
