Standalone In Dash controls?

We've been discussing this at work. Is it possible to control a standalone ECU with a touchscreen in dash DVD player with a hard drive? Not programming the ECU, just cycling between tunes/ settings? Tune it on a laptop and then transfer the setting to the DVD player. Wouldnt it be trick to just hit a button on your screen and go from 10 psi to 19 psi to eat some SRT4 while goin for groceries?
We've been talkin about my future STi and this came up. Since i was going to be getting a in dash AND a standalone anyway, it would save me about 500$ on a "1 trick" laptop.
