    Dash light problem etc

I just got my car back from putting in the new block. And im noticing that my dash lights are a bit weak when I turn on my headlights.

With the headlights off, the dash is perfect and lights up as bright as it should. But as soon as I switch to the headlights they dim to the point that they are practically not even on.

I also just had 3 defi gauges installed. And I have HID's etc. My voltage is also reading in the high 13's, so no problem there. When first starting the car at night, the HID's flicker for the first minute of driving, then they stop. My thoughts are that something is having to charge up power......but im no expert heh.

Could it be the battery? Am I putting to much strain on the electrical system? Need a capacitor?

Any ideas of what it might be?

Depending on what model you have, I believe there should be a dimmer control knob that may have been bumped while you were working on your car... then again, maybe I am thinking of another car... they are starting to blend together in my mind!!!
