If you are talking a Tribeca to a manual WRX not a chance. The only starter I have found confidence in buying for a manual is the one that I have, Compustar is one of the only manual compatible remote starters you will find.

I have some viper alarm with remote start on my MT wrx.
It's awesome because I can start it when the car's in neutral, but it doesn't start when it's in gear. So that's a sweet safety mechanism. I have no idea how it was done, bought the car like that.

I too have a remote start installed on my MT WRX. Our transmissions have a neutral safety sensor, which almost any remote starters should be able to use to make it safe. Finding a shop that will install it is the hard part; too much liability, even if our cars do have the capability to sense if it's in gear or not.
