So it was time to redo the interior

Most people were just not digging the red interior trim (I can't say that I was INLOVE with it either) so it was time for a change.


First step as some may have read was to customize the autometer gauge pod so it now has visors.

Ok, now for the new scheme, black with double silver race stripes on the center consel which will be outlined with red pinstripes. Here is the photochop to get a feel of it.

Now on for the painting (sorry no pics of the proccess) which I say all told took about 8 hours to do with all the masking and pinstriping. The black is a semi-gloss to better match the interior shade, the grey is a dark grey metalic that is also semi-gloss. The vent trim and door handle trim were painted dark grey same as the strip and the door switch panel was painted black. So it didn't seem out of place the gauge pod was repainted the semi-gloss black and will be trimed to fit into the hole in the dash just like the clock did.





The next step will be a dark grey leather shift boot with black stitching and maybe a wrinkle black powdercoat for the shift knob.

I don't know (I am a ME) I just like the off set racing stripes on cars and here was a chance for me to add some to my car without having to repaint the entire car

I had a 1987 Ford Escort with a red interior. Laugh if you need to - it was a dependable car for me that got good gas mileage, albeit uber boring.

I really grew to hate it as the red in my peripheral vision "leaked" into my forward vision making everything distorted color wise. Gray or black is best imo.

thanks I was thinking about leaving the out the red pinstripes but I have a piece of carbon fiber on my "coin dish" that has the letters "WRX" in matching red and I want the interior to have some color instead of it being so dark. I also changed the dash lights at night to red instead of the usual green
