Cabin Filter Question

I have searched a few times to find a good answer to this but havent ever found it. I created my own cabin filter from home depot and didnt think it worked all that well. I followed instructions and made sure it was the exact same dementions as the factory one but didnt think it worked very well... Im wondering if its possible to buy a filter at checker or napa or something that is the same thing (without having to pay the rediculous $30 something dollars from the dealer?

Wow I posted this same question like 3 days ago. I found out that Autozone sells one for $29.99 and the dealership one is $43. I would suggest if you really wanna save money, you cross reference the dimensions to a fram or wix filter and buy that. Any paper filter should make a difference over none. I would be wary though about cross reference to an oil impregnated style.

Well thats a good start but its depressing that the engine air filter can be bought for like $8 dollars. I dont understand why it is always so expensive!

What will really piss you off is when you look at that flimsy cheapo cabin air filter that has 1/100th of the paper in it.
