    aftermarket stereo dimming?

Anyone with an aftermarket stereo figure out a way to use the dimmer for the interior lights to trigger the stereo dimming? Our cars (02's anyway) use an a$$-backwards dimming system. Most cars dim lights by reducing the voltage from 12V down to ground on the illumination wire. The WRX supplies 12V on one of two wires in the illumination circuit and brings the ground up to 12V on the other wire.

I installed an after-market alpine deck in my 05 wrx with auto dimming feature with no problems. I know on the 05 i believe it's the yellow wire (usually NOT in the aftermarket bracket) You actually have to hot wire it directly to the stock wires if that makes sense.
    Stage II and loving it!
