Red face i need some help

I got laundry detergent all over my carpet.

My stupid detergent decided to puke all over the carpet and the floor mat in the back when i was going to go do laundry.

Question is, should i shampoo the carpet, or would that lead to a car full of bubbles, i tryed vaccuming it at the car cleaner but didn't really help any cept get the liquid that had not soaked into my carpet and floor mat.

    Stupid laundry detergent. GRR!!

If it's mostly just spots, and not the entire carpet, you might want to look for a product called Folex - I picked up a bottle from our local Home Depot after reading some of the glowing reviews on Autopia, but I've luckily never had to use it yet so I can't give you any first hand knowledge.

Here's a couple of theads from the Autopia site to give you an idea of how good it's supposed to be:

    Also, here's the company's website:

    Good luck!

I think you are right that if you try and add water to it (shampoo it out) that you are going to have lots of bubbles and possibly spread it.

This may sound odd, but I know a ton of people who have used it for liquid and oil based spills on carpet, but have you tried spreading kitty litter on the carpet where it spilled and then vacuuming up the kitty litter (after letting it sit for a while)? I'm not sure if this method will work with the detergent (or if it's not recommended, someone feel free to chime in), but kitty litter is amazing stuff for oils and spills.
