then its on boost when is on the + side

i just got a 07 Wrx LTD and i am soooooo happy that i got out of the mitsubishi scene for it, i drove it for all of 5 hrs and i already love it. ok for the question, what does it mean when the boost is in the - like when i idle it stays at -.05 what does that really mean (i have the factory gauge)

i always understood it this way...boost(+) is when the turbo is pushing air in(duh). vacuum is when the engine is sucking air through the turbo because the exhaust is not spooling it fast enough to boost
