    Noob question bout boost gauge

    i just got a 07 Wrx LTD and i am soooooo happy that i got out of the mitsubishi scene for it, i drove it for all of 5 hrs and i already love it. ok for the question, what does it mean when the boost is in the - like when i idle it stays at -.05 what does that really mean (i have the factory gauge)

    welcome !

    i think it means its on vacuum when is in the -
    then its on boost when is on the + side

    i always understood it this way...boost(+) is when the turbo is pushing air in(duh). vacuum is when the engine is sucking air through the turbo because the exhaust is not spooling it fast enough to boost
    282 AWHP...267 lb-ft torque.

    o ok. i was just curious. since i never encountered a turbo before, thanks for the info.
