    Rear defrost

My rear defroster is not working on my wagon. Heres the deal so far:

Button "works" - ie, light comes on.
I can hear the relay (or something) tick under the steering column when the button is hit.
I checked the fuse under the hoot for rear defrost, checks out ok.
I checked the connectors on the hatchback, where they connect to the "grid" and I don't seem to be getting power there.

My plan of attack for tomorrow is to find the wire going to the hatchback and just start tracing it back until I find where the power is getting dropped. Is this my only option? Is there something I'm missing? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks!

Took off the interior panel attached to the hatchback and found a connector that looked strange (plastic was discolored and bubbled). I confirmed that power was getting to that connector but not to the grid in the window. After replacing the connector, it works!
