clock not working.

ok so I bought my car about a month ago and the clock on the dash doesnt work. The guy told me it didnt work when I bought it and im just now getting around to messing with it.

I looked at the fuse and its not blown. It says the fuse is for the interior lights and the clock and the interior lights work fine.

so I assume it has to be somewhere in the clock circut itself..

He was an older guy so im pretty sure there was never a guagepod there or any reason why it would have been off and the wires fiddled with.


any ideas why it wouldnt be working? everything else inside the car works fine.

Edit: I found a thread on it and seems there are quite a few of us with broken clocks did anyone ever fix theres?

I'm in pretty much the same position. Just bought a used 02 - clock doesn't work. Took the actual clock out of its housing and I can see that a resistor was obviously blown. I've also verified that power is getting to the clock (at the connector). So its definitely the clock. Going for a replacement....

good excuse to get a clock pod, and put some gauges in it.

Did you check the clock spring?

Man, I did check that. Unfortunately that wasn't it - sucks cause that would have been a cheap way out. Now I have to actually buy the clock...not very happy.
