    Smile Gauge set up help?

    Hey guys just a quick question on my gauges i have an 04 wrx impreza and i was woundering where would be the best place to place my egt probe .... header ..... or after the turbo? and where might i be able to tap my oil pressure sender into ... they are electrical gauges .... thankx guys

    egt - put it in the drivers side exhaust manifold (pre turbo). This will get you the best numbers and has been known to be the hotter side, thus letting you know when the car is getting lean right away.

    oil pres - did you buy a sandwich adapter? Some people use gallery plugs on the engine, but I don't know where they are located. Might want to do a search...it should help you some.

    thankx dude , yea i did some looking around and i guess there is a plug some wheres around under the intercooler idk ill have to check it out tomorrow and what not..... odd my name is also chris and drive an 04 blue wrx nice dude but thakxs for the help .... what whould you recamend for some first upgrades ... i did the gauges so that way i could moniter my car a little close after i start doing some upgrades which everybody is making fun of me a work for but whatever

    haha small world ya know...

    of course I'll have to mention the usual 'search' button. Also take a look at the stickies in the top of the engine performance sub forum.

    With that said my first mods would be:

    EM - Accessport does well, utec too
    uppipe/downpipe - at the same time (much easier)
    catback - boxer rumble
    springs - gets rid of that awful understeer
    better tires - re92's are horrible

    And I'll add the driving school to be better at handling all your new found power. I have all of the above, including gauges lol, and enjoy the car very much.
