In taking the door panel off the door itself, you have to do it all in one piece. However, once the whole piece is off, you can separate it into three pieces. It's a pain, though, they are attached to each other as follows: one piece has a rubber stud, another piece has a hole. Stud is put through hole then a big, hot stamp presses the rubber stud flat. To get these pieces apart, you need a soldering iron to melt the rubber and pull the pieces apart. Putting them back together can be hard or easy. Hard way is re-melt the rubber, put pieces back together, push softened rubber back around hole to re-seal. Easier way is to buy very shorts screws with very big, flat heads (or use washers). Have to be careful, though - some places have very little clearance and a lapse in care will have you sending a screw right out the visible side of the door panel.
