    Freaking ant infestation

So I spent a weekend at Carolina Beach (southern N.C.). Lots of tattoos, tobacco stained fingers and adult onset diabetes. But that's not important right now. What is important is that my car is completely infested with these tiny ants. On the drive back today, I killed a dozen of them - all on the dash board.

    My Questions-
Has this happened to anyone? Will it go away on its own if there's no food source or additional ants of this sort in the neighborhood? is there an alternative to spraying poison since I take my dog in the car alot?

    Your FAQS...

    Q. Hey Dan, you slob, was there food in the car?
    A. No. All food was completely removed. I checked for anything that they might be feeding on.

    Q. Did you do a search?
    A. Absolutely. The first answer was a thread about "the anti-drug"

    Q. Do you have a honda?
    A. Sadly, yes. But my mileage for the trip was 34 mpg with 4 people and a trunk full of luggage.

    Q. Can you race my sh1tty primer-d honda?
    A. Anytime, punkz!@!!11!!!1111

Thanks in advance for your help.

Detail is a little too expensive around these parts... about $150-200 for a decent job. I don't have any time to do it myself for about 2 weeks.

Now I'm wondering, maybe you could lightly spray a fire extinguisher into there, and it would kill the ants. I wonder if the interior gets messed up though.

Wait. A thorough job with a vacuum might work.

I dont see how they could survive if there is no food source in there, just wait it out?

Yeah, right now I'm going to wait until the weekend. If it's still bad, I'll put down traps.so irritating.

Fire extinguisher sounds like a good idea. If its a CO2 one, than i don't see why it would damage anything. It would suffocate all those little bastards and leave no trace... Ninja style.

A dust fire extinguisher would work too! But then you'd ruin the interior of you car

Here's what really makes my J key stick...
my friend has a junky outback and I was basically coerced to drive to the beach. I put 1000 miles on my car, one of my cheap a$$ friends gave me no gas cash, I have sand and salt all over my car, three new door dings from rednecks driving enormous fukking SUVs and pickups and not caring about anyone else except themselves, and now ants.

    J key !!! J KEY!!!!!

Well at least I have a honda, so I don't care like I used to with the WRX.

A good vacuuming should do the trick. And keeping food out. Maybe a stuffed ant-eater in the back seat.

We had ants in a Tahoe of ours one time. We vacuumed them out, set ant grendades in it, and killed all the remainders. 2 days later it was filled with them again so we sold it. Don't know what happened to the ants with the new owner. Good luck though.
