I've never been that impressed with Bose speakers. The sound I get out of my $100 Polks in my WRX is as good or better, IMO.

The sound system in a WRX (2005 wagon here) comes nowhere close to it. I almost never listen to anything in my car because the system simply sucks.

Is there any aftermarket system that can match the Bose?

    It's my evil twin.

Anyway, semi-back on topic, I'd like to mention that I did try Infiniti Reference components in my sedan, and wasn't as pleased with the outcome. No matter how I adjusted them, there was just waaay too much high frequency output.

Ya the reference line are not very good. Go Infiniti Kappa's...really nice products. I have 2 Kappa Perfect 12.1d subs, and they are awesome for sound quality

I've never used component speakers, I have had plenty of good experiences with plain old 3-ways, they sound just as good in my opinion.

How do you know they sound just as good as components if you've never used them?

Honestly, I like the imaging of 3-ways better than most components I've heard.

JL w0's were really good for the price back in the day.

the best part about those JLs is that you don't have to feed them a ton of power

I know people who have component speakers......can't even tell the difference.

The W0 subs from JL are really nice, and as stated, you don't need a ton of power to run them...much like the Rockford Fosgate subs....but the RF's are far less expensive.

this is my opinion, alot of people probably wont agree.

I love fosgate amps, they are awesome. But thats all I like from them.

Decks and subs and speakers, I go pioneer all the way. I have listened to about 20 different decks, and pioneer blows them all away. Recently in my wifes car, she had a fosgate deck. Well, the trunk got wet so we had to do some revamping. We decided to update the deck as well. We got it all back together and the trunk fixed. We put in the new pioneer deck and I swear to god it almost doubled the bass, and its so crisp and clean now. Before with the fosgate it was all muffled. I have had pioneer decks and subs in my car since I got my first one 10 years ago.

JL is more focused on SQ.

Rockford Fosgate is more focused on SPL.

This means that they are totally different sound!
