    Memorial Dat weekend project, trunk lid carpet!

    I just built and installed this, just some cardboard, carpet and 3M spray adhesive:

    oops I meant to type Memorial DAY, lol...

    Why not? it was cheap..almost free, and I was bored.

    Did ya make it yourself? I think it cleans up the bottom side, way better than the primer finish Subaru left us to look at!

    I wonder if doing something like this would help get rid of the rattles in my trunk.

    Your best bet is to not let the air in your trunk be influenced by your subs at all. Seal off the cabin from the trunk completely, and fire the subs into the cabin. The bass wont be as loud, but it will sound more crisp, so you can run a ported box and have better SQ than typical rear firing sealed enclosures.

    The trunk lid looks nice, but I gotta ask, did you glue the cardboard to the lid and then the carpet to the cardboard?

    no, the carpet is glued to the cardboard, and the card boars is held in with 4 self tapping screws and 2 scrivets.
