    which amp setup?

    Yup, I'm a noob.
So, if I wanted to amp my 10" JL10w1 sub and all 4 speakers which would be best?

    1. One 5 channel amp
    2. One amp for the sub and one 4 channel amp for the speakers.

I have yet to upgrade the stock speakers but will before I buy a amp or amps.

    Thanks for your help

Ok guys I went with that alpine 4 channel amp for my speakers and now I'm on to a mono amp for my sub: Boston Acoustics G210-4

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but how about this amp for my sub: Alpine MRP-450

Looks like a great price. Actually everything on this site seemed to be lower than anywhere I could find online, plus orders over $200 have free shipping.

    Thanks for your input.

5 channel. They take up less room, less wiring= easier install. Plus they have the crossovers built in.

Alpine mono amps are solid. I dont have experience with the 4 channel amps, but they should all work for your setup. 1%THD to the highs/mids might a little high for people really into audiophile, but since you have coaxials it should be perfectly fine. do it

either one 5channel or 2 amps will work fine but if it were me i would get really nice component speakers for the front and simply bridge the 4 speaker channels to the fronts and run the rear off my HU.....you can either leave stock in the rear or get a decent set of coaxials

Definately get two amps... Elemental Designs makes an amazing 4 cahnnel amp for the speakers, but it costs about 250 bucks! But Alpine and Pioneer make good speaker amps as well. As for the 5channel, depending what you running off them, they heat up VERY fast, and require larger guaging wire.

The Alpine amp will be fine if your getting ONE JL 10w1, but the amp puts out 220 watts rms and the sub can only handle 150 rms, so make sure you dont turn the amp all the way, or you'll be buying a new sub really soon

As for speakers, Inifnity mkae some of the best, and there Kappa series is awesome. Im running 6 1/2 componants in the front doors and 5 1/4 two-ways in the rear, and it sounds amazing.
