my friend puked in my car, i need suggestions on how to get rid of the smell

...and no, killing him won't help me.

I tried cleaning it with some soap and water and then frebreezing it. it was a good temporary solution but the frebreeze is starting to wear off and I now have to drive with my car windows down all the time.

i'm going to try laundry detergent tomorrow, any good ideas???

You have to get it steam cleaned where it SUCKs the puke out rather than rubbing it furhter in. A car detailer will do it

I know it sounds wierd, but try OxyClean. That stuff will clean anything.

LOL! i thought that stuff was a fraud, my mom recently bought some of it at Sams club, i thought she got it off the infomercial, my mom is a sucker for those infomercials (mom being a sucker jokes not needed) she sits in the mornin and buys all that crap... Its kinda sad

I thought it was a fraud too till a friend used it to get Nail Polish of all things out of the carpet. Even now when I watch the commercial I think "this stuff is a Joke" but it really works.
She uses it for really bad stains and it works. I dont why it works but it does.

First off clean the stuff up.

Then use Plug-in gell packs, thats what i use.

first off, oxyclean is just laundry detergent. new fancy label, but that's all it is. if you've run out of oxyclean, TIDE will do the same thing...

as for the pukey car, have the interior detailed and steam cleaned, then get a nice air freshener. might take a week to totally kill the smell, but that should do it.

I disagree....oxyclean isn't just laundry detergent (if it was...where's the soap you have to rinse out?)...

Febreeze helps also (to deodorize).

And don't take your friend out driving anymore in the twisties.

aussieinstlouis is correct, steam clean it as soon as you can! Either have someone do it or go to Home Depot and rent one for $20-some. After it is completely dry (make sure it is dry, very very dry) liberally sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and upholstery. Sprinkle a lot of it and let it sit at least over night but the longer the better. Then, just vacuum it up and no more smell, you'll be left with the same new-car smell you had before.
Air fresheners just cover up the smell, baking soda kills it without leaving a smell of its own.

make friend lick car until (car != smelly);
if (car != smelly) exit();
get friend to pay for car to be steam cleaned until (car != smelly);
if (car != smelly) exit();
throw large amounts of (baking soda || oxyclean) into car until (car != smelly);
}

if (car == smelly)
while (1 == 1) { kill friend.}
else
be happy.
