    Aesthetically, I appreciate it. But my first thought was also that it looks like it might be a little weird or rough to grip.

    I had a shiny metal shift knob once. One summer I learned very quickly to stick one of my mechanic gloves over it when it was parked out in the sun during work. Lol

    Another Knob, model 1911

    While this one looks tall and odd, it "feels" really good! The extra height seems to smooth out some of the notchy feel of the shifter. I would imagine it is not the thing for the track, but for an average daily driver/commuter, it feels and works really well. I like the slender vertical feel better than the round globe feel. (yes, still talking about the shifter...) Pulling the reverse slide is less-than-ideal still easily done.
