After owning my car for a little over a year now (my first WRX), I've decided I would like to start making the car a little more "me". I think a good start to this would be to replace the head unit for something with a bit more functionality. Currently I only use the AUX port with my iPod and nothing really outside of that.
My goal would be to find a head unit that has bluetooth, can still utilize the controls in the steering wheel as well as the AUX port, and has navigation. For now, I do not plan on replacing any of the speakers or adding subs. I would like to replace the head unit first and see how the audio sounds afterwards before making any other changes.
I'm pretty inexperienced with car audio systems (well, working on cars in general). Once I buy a new head unit, how difficult would it be to install it on my own? If the risk for damaging anything is low and the process is pretty straight-forward, I'd like to do this on my own.
Does anyone have any recommendations on head units or guides on how to install them?
