    SPT-Boost-Gauge

    Hey!

Serious question right now... I'm going to be ordering a boost-gauge pretty soon since I always wanted one but our car never came with it... if I buy this 2008 2014 Subaru WRX STI SPT Turbo Boost Guage H501SFG500 | eBay and install it myself there should be no problems right? Or does the dealership have to install it so they can not say I messed up something and voided warranty? Thanks all!

F that noise spend $25-$30 more and get a defi
I don't know for sure but if you didn't have it installed by them technically they could void any warranty claim. Though a boost gauge is a simple enough install you shouldn't mess anything up. If you do plan on installing an aftermarket one it there are enough of write ups to follow. My Prosports have been running strong for 3 years now, when they do go ill be getting he defi white lines

Spend the extra money and get a quality gauge such as DEFI (higher budget) or AEM (lower budget).

Well I'm doing some shopping and looking around and I found a brand new spt-gauge (that fits on 2008 to 2014 models) for $100 so I'll probably stick with that. I know there are better options out there but it's a reasonable price (seeing as how they're normally pushing over $200 nowadays) and I like having stuff with "STI" or "SPT" written on them to avoid screwing up warranty.

Thank you all very much though!

    haha sounds good and nice!

side note... don't feel like opening a new thread for this... if I also order the spt-vortex-generator do I have to paint it or leave it be? I heard it is made out of cheap material and is easily damaged by sunlight or extreme temperatures... thoughts?

oh ok that makes sense... I guess then it should be something done every other weekend huh?

I'm kinda tempted to just have it painted to match my color and leave it at that... but that's just me...

    hmmm...
