    Vacuum gauge playing up

hey guys i cant find anything that matches whats going on with my vacuum gauge so hopefully someone here could help. its a mechanical turbo smart gauge.
so what happens is i start the car and it works fine but after a while (20-30 minutes) the vacuum needle drops slower and slower and eventually becomes very laggy moving up or down but when i turn the car off it goes back to 0 at normal speed.

probably means you have a leak somewhere.

when you say it drops slower and slower, is this with throttle? or idle? correct behavior should mostly be parallel with the throttle response.

if youre experiencing lag when you give it throttle, and the needle isnt jumping to normal boost levels, then you have a leak. the needle may be moving up or down because the car is tryna combat the levels of pressure from the leak.

what kind of line are you using? a good fuel line grade or the crappy nylon hose that crimps when you look at it.

go through your work and make sure all the connections are tight and secure. especially where you spliced from and at the connection of the actual gauge.

Do you think the vacuum line to the gauge could be collapsing when it warms up? That would slow it response for sure.
