COBB Access Port Mounting Issue When Driving 'Spirited'

I've got my Access Port all mounted with their supplied pieces within the vent, but anytime I drive 'spirited' the thing is thrown off completely from the vent (bracket and unit, together). How are you guys combatting this? Is there a better mount to use? A trick I'm unaware of?

    Appreciate any help.

I always found vent mounts to be kind of weak. I mounted mine to the left of me between the vent and dimmer controls. Perfect little flat area. Gave up on various double sided tapes(all eventually failed) and
used 2 very small stainless sheet metal screws on the supplied ball mount. Painted the screw heads with touch-up black, it's barely noticeable and no more angry me!

Just look for a window mount that has a dual T tab adapter something like this
Arkon Dual T-Tab 2 T-Slot 2 Prong Pattern Car Mounts Holders Mounting Brackets & Pedestals
I went with one that I can tighten and use it for my ultraguage

Do you actually use the display though?

I ask because I know three guys who just use it for the flash and just keep it somewhere else, heck even at home, since they know the gauges and displayed information is not always that accurate.

The AP is an invaluable tool to use for monitoring on a daily basis. You never know when you are going to get a bad tank of gas etc...

I mounted their mounting plate with a cell phone holder from Best Buy that has spring loaded hooks in the vent. It has never fallen off. It will move with the vent up, down and side to side when cornering.

That's what your IAM is for...

It's really not invaluable. I'd say most of you have no idea what you're reading or why. In many ways the AP has bred a group of people who are paranoid because they saw some FBKC.

If one knows what they are looking at, it is an invaluable tool for monitoring as well as logging. I do agree that there is a high percentage of folks that have no idea, and then the paranoia sets in. I do not understand why someone who is not willing/able to take the time to have a general understanding of its features/values would choose an AP over significantly cheaper alternatives.
