    2015 sti stereo

    Hey guys,

Just ordered this motor and I know that the stereo is a bit rotten. Looking to upgrade it to one with apple CarPlay. Is it possible to fit a double din stereo in place of the stock head unit?

The stock piece IS a double-DIN form factor. In other words: yes.

Thanks man, do you know if a standard double din will require like a surrounding facia - will there be any gaps in other words

Yes you need a trim piece to fill in gaps

I'm interested to see what you end up with. I'm looking to replace my nav headunit with one that doesn't suck and has CarPlay as well. Keep us updated!

Yes, you will need that. When I upgraded the unit in my 15, I used a mounting kit for a '14 Imprezza because the kits for the 15s weren't out yet. It worked (and looks) great!

I actually used the kit from my 14 wrx. I had to cut a couple notches but it worked fine

Yup! That's what I had to do as well. Glad it worked out for you!
