Kartboy short shifter - improper installation?

    Hey Club WRX fam,

I received my Kartboy short shifter in the mail yesterday and immediately had to throw it on. Anyways, during the uninstallation process of the stock shifter, I had lost my snap ring when I had pulled out the stock shifter. After looking forever for it with no success at finding it, I continued to install the new shifter. My question is; am I doing any harm to the car by not having the snap ring placed where it originally was? I actually drove my car around about a good 10 miles before returning home after installing the new short shifter. Oh, FYI, I have it now because I found it under my floor mat. Would you recommend to place it back or does it not make a difference?

    Thanks in advance!

It doesn't take long to pull it all apart, I would say just go ahead and throw it back in there.

put it back. it's there to hold the shifter in place when you shift hard.

When I installed mine I checked hiw bad it'd be without the snap ring and I was able to pull it out with little effort if I remember correctly

Put it back in. Its fairly simple too. If u don't, when ur shifting, the shifter could possibly come out easy with light force
