    06-07 Impreza Radio Mounts

I removed the wife's factory 6 disc changer last night, and had difficulty removing the side mounting plates/brackets for use on the new kenwood double din...stripped 3 bolts.
Took the time to dremel one of the screws off, but that was 15ish minutes of grinding, and I'd really rather buy a new set of plates than spend another 30 minutes at it. Anybody know where I can get these? I called the dealer and the guy on the phone quoted $30 A PLATE! Totally ridiculous.

Please, send me the link with the hookup! Thanks.
    Rich

Unfortunately, no. That one is for mounting a single DIN in the double DIN spot. I have a double DIN Kenwood that I want to mount using the 2 side factory brackets from the original double DIN 6 disc changer...something like this, but not this particular one:

The metal plates in that "how to install an alpine unit" are the ones I was hoping to score easy
hairdryer is out of the question, because the screws are not gold like in the thread you showed, they are silver and super soft. They went from normal to mangled in a single twist, and I'm 155lbs soaking wet. the ones i did get off came loose with a distinct POP, so I think they were torqued down good with some kind of loctite that was TOO good at its job.

Yup, dremel time. I ground the entire head off the first screw, but that took too long, which is why I figured that I would just buy the plates...now I'm going to pick up a fiberglass reenforced cutoff wheel for the dremel. Hopefully a good deep slot will allow me to pop off the mangled ones with a fat flathead....
