Installing OEM seat heaters in '13 WRX base model

So i came across the oem seat heaters on one of the subaru part sites. I was wondering if i would need to do any additional wiring/fusing/installing relays or if all the cars come with all of that even if it wasn't installed from the factory?

    Thanks!

A bit of an older post.

I'm pretty sure the wiring harness/fuses/relays/etc are NOT present if the seat heaters were NOT OE.

Installing OEM seat heaters in '13 WRX base model

Just realized the date. I'm a newb here clearly lol. Thanks for the heads up, I'm getting a standard 2014 and just wanted to add some heated seats when it comes in so I've been searching for info. If you have any it is greatly appreciated. I searched and didn't find much here.

I'm sure there's not much to find here. The wiring and associated relays are too expensive to install by default. The base model is certainly not equipped for that. You'd have to pull that wiring in and fuse and hook-up, relays and switches. The location for the switches is there, but that's it.
You can't have everything - where would you put it?

It's a huge PITA to do. There are harnesses, relays, switches, etc. to install, not to mention the heating bladders themselves. If you want heated seats, it's probably more expensive time/money wise to install them on a base than it is to just not be cheap and get a premium.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll just deal with it. That money can go to better use somewhere else. I'm willing to bet getting heated mirrors and wipers is also a huge PITA as well?

You should have heated wipers already. I figured a week ago I had some... All you do is activate your rear windshield defroster, and the wiper heaters will be working for a period of 15 mins.

i saw a thread on either here or nasioc where people installed some seat heaters off of ebay. they said the process wasnt that bad. worst part was getting the heaters into the seat.

Just found that article. Funny you said that. I was hoping to be able to do the heated seats a little more OEM appearing but this does provide a great alternative. I really would like to know if I could easily do the heated mirrors and wipers now. Anyone know if the wiring is there or not? Am I the only crazy newb that cares about the all weather package?! Haha. Probably. :/
