    WC Lathe Werks Knob thread

Been seeing a ton of WC Lathe Werks knobs and new shift knob threads, lets make one big thread of WC Lathe Werks knobs. List a little review of the knob, car model, knob options, comparison over stock, link, your shifter setup ( short shifter, bushings, etc.) and a photo please

Ill start on my 2002 wrx with a short throw Sti upgrade on it i installed a WC lathe werks Stainless steel sphere in a burnt gunmetal finish. It weighs 530 grams and sits 1" lower than stock, which is a perfect fit the rest my arm on the armrest and hand on the knob. My stock knob i could feel a "notchy" feeling going into all the gears, it wasnt smooth at all. After installing this weighted knob it goes smoothly into gear and just feels amazing all around. I thought installing shifter bushings would help with the "notchiness" but the new knob helped a ton. I installed shifter bushings, front and rear, shortly after and it didnt make much difference to me. Maybe with the stock knob it wouldve felt better but the WC Lathe Werks knob made the most positive impact. The knob i decided to go without the engraving because i wanted it to feel smooth in my hand. The finish is super smooth with a nice shine. I purchased the little bag for when it gets hot or cold, because it does get very hot in direct sunlight.Perfect IMO and probably the best mod ive bought for the car.

SS piston, burnt gunmetal with fabric wrap. Love it!! It's on my 06 Wrx with kart boy short shifter and all the stiffer bushings! It feels really good in the hand.

    Find a low-mileage one-owner unmodified '04/'05 and you're golden.

Thanks for the post... I've been lusting after one for some time now. Only thing that has been holding me back is the whole temperature thing. Seems like most of the year any metal in the car is pretty painfully hot or cold after it's been sitting for awhile. Does it bother you much using something to cover it every time you get in or out of the car? Or just not that big of a deal?

How big of a difference does that short shifter kit make? I really am afraid I won't like it.

Theres really nothing not to like about it. It was a little odd getting used to the new height of the shifter but you get over it in a couple days.

That's what I really wanted to know before I bought it. Just waiting and purchasing the bushings at the same time.

you can get it made out of copolymer instead of a metal. they also have ones where both metal and copolymer are used so get the nice feel from the weight . or you can get something to cover it with, they sell a little bag that i purchased that works well.

It's pretty sweet. Makes a big difference and there really isn't anything not to like. After one morning communte (<10 minutes) it felt completely normal... like it was meant to be that way.

I did see that... the metal ones are the ones I really like the look of. Nothing against the copolymer, it just doesn't really have the same feel to me. It always just seemed like it would be annoying to have to cover the shifter up every time you park the car... seems like it might be worth it though!
