In theory though, if they are the same motors and are switched at the same time, they should close at the same time too, right?

What happens if you roll them up/down independently? Is one still faster than the other? If they're the same speed in that situation, I second the it could be dirty observation.

For what its worth I think mine (in a 2012) are about the same speed.

I noticed the same issue as mine... I have a 2013 wrx sedan. it does exactly what you described. Next oil change I will address the issue to the service/mechanic.

That's a good question. I think they are the same motors but they operate off of the same relay. They will use less power coming down than going uo so the draw wont be as much.

Wow, this is the epitome of a "first world problem".
I've noticed the "slower multiple windows" for the entire time that I've had 2002 models. It's just more amps being pulled by the motors, and there isn't but so much to go around. I've never paid attention to differences in individual rates. If it's truly a nuisance to you, take it to the dealer and see if they'd be willing to crack open the window assembly and make sure there's no extra drag in there. It would SEEM like the motors themselves would be pretty uniform..though who knows.

My rear windows nearly stop if I try to put more than one up at a time. It's awful.

I know it's not a first world problem, but when it takes about 20 seconds (no joke) to put a rear window up... it gets old pretty fast.

A "first world problem" means that it's trivial in the big picture...meaning if you compare it to people without clean water, etc, in 3rd world countries, well, you get it. So slow power windows actually IS a first world problem.

Yeah, 20 seconds would certainly drag out. I don't really make all 4 go up and down that often..I'll try mine some time to see if it's the same situation.

Touche on the first world problem.

I dunno if they are gonna keep working or not. They've gotten drastically slower over the past year at least. Would be nice if they failed before my warranty is up next year, but we all know how that works out.

One of my rear windows did this. It was terribly slow. I removed the door card and re-greased the rail/guide with wd-40. Problem 100% solved.

Haha I know what you mean. Mine do it to on my 05 STI. They did it since brand new on my 07 STI when I had it...the window motors on these cars have never been particularly powerful. They go even slower if the car is not fully turned on (only in accessory/battery mode) and if you do any combination of more than one at the same time.

    LOL.

Step 1 - Remove door card.
Step 2 - Peel pack plastic sheet covering holes.
    Step 3 - Locate guide/rail.
    Step 4 - Spray it with wd-40.
Step 5 - Put your door back together.
