Finevu Cr-500HD. It is hardwired to the car so it is always recording and when the car is off if it senses vibration or motion it starts recording. It automatically powers off if the cars voltage drops below a certain point so you will still be able to start the car.
    Here is some video.

You can not see it at all from drivers seat.

I made a extra Cigarette lighter plug that has constant power and ran it behind the dash for the finevu to plug into.

Looks great. I've been thinking of installing one myself. How much did this setup cost?

That's a good idea. I picked up a suction cup mount for my GoPro yesturday and I'll be filming most of my drives from now on too. It just seems like a good idea to me, proof for any reason that it may be needed, that you were in fact following the rules of the road if trying being accused otherwise, or to brag to your friends about how quick your car can get through the school zones, and dodge alle the kiddies while doing so.

Not trying to catch anything, just want to protect my self from the bad drivers out there that might try and get away with something that is their fault.

The camera was $320 shipped. This one is the top of the line and they start at about $200 ish for the basic cameras.

I wrapped the stock pillars and headliner in suede. Here are some more pictures.

What the - is your car parked in the kitchen?!

And I have a question that may just be answered by me not being lazy and just looking it up, but how do you get the video onto your laptop? WiFi? Bluetooth? Gotta plug it in somewhere?

I think it might actually be illegal in NJ to film from your car. This is a memory though, so don't take my word for it.

There is a removable micro sd card or you can plug a USB cable into it.

Ha wouldn't doubt it knowing this communist state...Guilty until proven innocent with everything. So in this case, they don't want you having any ability to prove yourself innocent.

But the camera is pretty cool. I've also thought about doing this simply because of all the moron drivers one encounters in NJ and the Philly area
