    Cupholder mods anyone?

So there's this rather useless rectangular piece of plastic just above the radio with a picture of a cup on it...

Has anyone come up with any clever replacements? I'm fairly certain that nobody in their right mind would actually suspend a cup full of (potentially sticky) liquid above their stereo.

Maybe a pop-out light? Digital clock? Something with some actual utility?
I could be mistaken in my newbishness, but it seems to me that this particular little bit of plastic is begging to be smacked repeatedly with an awesome stick.

If I come up with anything (it may be awhile), I will gladly share.

I use it almost every day. I have seen some folks put gauges in it. A guy used the top to a spray paint can and mounted his boost gauge to it and set the whole assembly in the cup holder.
    Find a low-mileage one-owner unmodified '04/'05 and you're golden.

That's kinda interesting... I'm probably extra-biased because my cupholder doesn't function so well. I'd love to come up with something creative, but it's pretty low on the priority list. I just thought about it on the drive home and wondered if anyone else saw any potential there.

Very slick Main. On an unrelated note, what sort of head unit is that? The date display is nifty!

02 through... 05? I'm not sure. Early NA. We also get a crappy little cupholder by the e-brake that doesn't hold much more than a 12oz red bull can.

Haha. Room for two of them?

Seriously though, the 06 Civic Si I used to drive had the most clever cupholder design I've ever seen. The holder itself was square, and it had spring-loaded corner thingies that would fit just about any shape/size drink you could care to bring along. Except maybe for those enormous Circle-K gallon thermos cups...

My daughter's car seat has two cup holders built in. . I can reach both from the driver's seat and I've found I prefer using those rather than the two built in ones. (Just have to make sure she doesn't swipe my Jack and Coke while I'm not looking)

Brilliant...! I never thought to put my jack and Cokes in sippy cups! They spill so easily out of a Collins glass under hard acceleration & cornering!
