    Considering Center Console Delete

I recently removed my Center console (from ash tray under radio, to glove box behind the hand brake) to adjust my handbrake. Once off I thought to myself how cool it would be to just delete it, no center piece. I want to do this project really bad BUT, there are a few outstanding issues.

    1. My '04 WRX has heated seats and adjustable mirrors (from interior), so I would need to re-route the wires up and into the center console where the radio sits
    2. I would need to find carpet that matches the interior's and find a way to seamlessly lay it over the most of the area the center console covered. Maybe run the carpet under the floor mats and seats and under the dash where the feet go so it is unnoticeable at a glance or two.
    3. I would need to find a new way to mount the shift boot and buy a handbrake boot to cover the mechanism
    4. I would need to also find a way to make sure that where the dash meets the center console's carpet, it looks right.

I saw this WRC Impreza racing and watching from the inside view (recorded by a GoPro) I noticed how awesome the interior looked without that **** in the middle. and I do mean ****. Seriously, in my humble opinion, the 04's WRX center console is annoying and useless. The cup holder is useless and the arm rest is too high (I have long arms so it gets in my way... A lot! especially when trying to yank the hand brake)

So if you would, give me your thoughts I don't want to gut my interior but I wouldn't mind getting the cheap center console out of my car.

    Subaru's rule!

I have removed the center console entirely, Now I'm looking to see what kind of material I should use to cover the holes in the carpet (where the shifter comes up through and the Hand brake etc etc)

How does it look where the trim used to meet? Have you done any work there or is it kind of an abrupt cutoff
