You can order it with an aluminum boot retainer. The cool thing is that if you have an aftermarket short throw, they can fit your knob / retainer based on the brand of shifter you have. The retainer is threaded into the knob, so it sits flush and has absolutely no play. Mine is pictured with the boot retainer in place.

My new Flossy shift knob arrived today. Went with the "Red Head" for the extra weight and full hand shifting. Put my college team on top.
