okay so I finished, I havent done anything with the visors yet, I will way this, if your not using foam backed headliner material this is a b*tch, the foam helps with the contouring and also hides imperfections, another thing is our headliner is ridiculously flimsy, I managed to get my material on pretty damn good id say 98% perfect; however when putting it back in if the headliner bends it causes imperfections in the material so get people to help!

Onto durability, all the pieces that I did yesterday had to be pulled off again, through all the rough handling I can say the staining held up really well, the only areas that became nicked were the SRS/Bolt covers, unfortunately while prying them off.

If I do the headliner, I'm gonna have one of the repair techs at work do it. What do you thi9nk with the blacked out interior with STI blue headliner?? Just a thought.
Mine came out pretty good, until the reinstall with the B pillars. They didnt want to line up, got knicked, and I got too lazy to remove them, repaint, reinstall, so I just repainted while they were still on the car. Messy, but whatever.

Looks great though. I love the headliner

why? If you want them shiny just get gloss finish paint.

OP.. I've been thinking of doing this for a while, I've used the same product before on different applications and liked it but was unsure of how it would look in the car. After seeing your pics.. I'ma goin at it asap! I have a plan for the headliner that's a little different but should still look good. Nice work man, way to motivate!!

Ya I thought of that after the fact. They never were shiny to begin with anyway after armoralling the original.
What's your idea for the headliner?

first rule of doing something new is not to tell everyone your secrets..

    second rule: reference first rule

I'm going to try a method I've used before on fabric.. not sure yet how it will come out so before I disclose or describe I want to make sure it works and looks ok. I'll spill when time comes. First its a matter of finding the time to pull my interior apart and get this done lol

glad ive given you guys the motivation! Personally I would just have gotten the headliner done professionally with the foam backing, but mine really isnt bad, I'm sure ill be the only one to ever notice the imperfections.

You usually are, only because you are aware of them.
Where'd you get the suede? And how much of it?
Do you have to buy the foam extra? I was going to see if one of the repair techs would do it for me, because I don;t like tedious things.
