Steering wheel controls

I got a Kenwood DDX419 HU with the ASWC steering wheel adapter, my question is what wires do I tap into to make it work poperly? I can only get my vol up and down and next and previous buttons to work.

Also after installing the HU I have about an inch gap on the left and right. How do I fix this?

You have two options....

1) get a filler plate/adapter plate to fill the gaps. These are available at most car audio places, best buys, and online (amazon, crutchfield, ebay, etc.).

2) get a JDM bezel to replace the entire surround. these look the best, but cost about $120 plus shipping

Thanks a lot man. You're right. The bezel does look better. You think they will have the filler plate at bestbuy?

Doesn't look like it.....Bestbuy uses Scosche brand install kits....you would need model SU2027B, which is not in stock in any of the Baltimore area stores. All locations have it listed as 5-7 days to ship to the stores.

If you can wait a few days, order online and save a few bucks. If you need it now, you will need to call local car audio places till you find one that has a unit in stock that will fit.

Thanks now I ran into another prob. See idk if these directions are right. I have it hook up per the directions and it's not working. The steering wheel controls that is. I tapped into all the wires one at a time and nothing. The colors on that link you posted aren't the same colors on my harness.

Don't mean to hijack your post but.....DemonWRX. The JDM bezel you suggested. The website says 08-09. I have a 12, do you know if this will work with my car?

From my understanding the 08-12 interior was the same design, though slightly different colors (darker in the 10-12)...the bezel should fit exactly......

While looking to confirm this, I found another user here....naked_dave1....that got a new bezel for his 12. He gave a link to the one he used, which is cheaper than the 'real' JDM, but still looks great. The posting below is his stereo install in his 12, including the new bezel...
