6.5" comp's with "calm" tweeters…JL C3-650 fit the bill? Other recommendations?

I really can't stand harsh tweets and have been interested in the Polk db6501s even though some have said they felt the tweets were a little harsh. I came across the C3-650 JLs and was interested since they have 4 tweeter settings and 3 midrange settings, seems like one should be able to find a good sound somewhere in there. Maybe the JL C2-650s would be similar (although they only have 3 tweeter settings) How do these (C2 and C3) compare with the Polks (which have 3 tweeter settings)? Any other recommendations, budget is under $400. Thank you.
