Camaro Shift Knob in my 11 wrx

I didn't like the stock shifter too much and I had my old camaro shift knob laying around so I decided to put it on.

If you remove the shifter console and turn the boot inside out, then attach a couple of zipties to the shift lever just under the threaded part of the lever, it will help hold the boot up tighter to the knob and you won't have the shaft showing.

thanks for the suggestion. i like it with space below the knob. i guess its the way i hold the shifter.

Do you have upgraded shift bushings yet? If not, I would suggest it

not yet, but i've been looking into it. suggestions? i kind of want a short throw too. ive been debating to get bushings or short throw or both.

Definitetly get the bushings, TIC sells a great package...06-08 5MT Holy Shift Kit (Wide). I have this and the Kartboy shift lever and I love the setup. If you're unsure about the short shifter, get the bushings and see what you think. The lever is a 5 minute install you can do later.

I like the spherical shift knob as well, but I wanted it to not show the shift lever. The Casapolis Designs knob did what I wanted and gave me the grip that I wanted below the ball without the gap at the boot.

I really like that Camaro knob, but (for me) the lever gap would be an eyesore.

niceee, that looks like a good setup. how long was the bushings install? kartboy also sells a lever and bushings combo, any word on that?

nice set up, yea i'm half and half on the lever. i like the grip with the lever exposed. from what ive been reading its an easy fix to bring the boot all the way up to the knob. but for now, i'll leave it till i get bored.

What you are looking at is the kartboy shifter & bushings with TiC TiC 06+ 5MT linkage bushings & TiC wide pivot bushings

I bought the combo but if you're unsure about the short shifter, you may want to buy them separately. Install was about an hour but I have a lift. On jack stands maybe a little longer but it's not too bad.

Hello everyone,

I got a video of my shift knob up. Some people were curious about this knob. Its just my old camaro shift knob forced onto my wrx shifter. Its been on for about 6 months and its held up real nice. check out the video up above in the OP.
