Just curious if anyone out there has any cool apps that they use that relate to their cars. I have briefly noted there are some dyno type apps that use the accelerometer feature. Anyone tried these, or any other apps that seemed cool?![]()

Not an iPhone/iTouch app, but on my Droid X I have an app called Torque.
Bump for restarting a "car-related app" thread. Let's also expand this beyond iOS on here too.
I'll start: Free GPS Navigation with Turn by Turn - Waze -- It's cross platform, so Android, iOS, Windows, BlackBerry, etc can all play together
I've been using the iOS app, and its great! I didn't expect a crowd-sourced map to be all that accurate as far as finding locations, but so far, it's been right up there with Google maps with finding addresses, shops, and such. Plus, users are encouraged to report road information like speed/red light cameras, cops hiding, accidents, construction, etc, and since there seem to be a lot of users in my area, so the information is very accurate. Turn-by-turn voice nav with spoken names works great as well, and politely pauses iTunes for instructions. Even when I'm not navigating, it calles out the road information. The app is $free.99, and I haven't seen any ads yet either.
I'm guessing it loses some of it's appeal to those in rural areas, where there might not be many users, and since it uses your GPS information for improving the maps and traffic data, those with security concerns might shy away. That being said, you can limit what information is used and how visible it is to other users, so I didn't feel like Big Brother was paying too close attention.
I admit that Google Nav spanks everything else out of the water, especially since it's free. I wish it would come to iOS, but I'd say Waze is one of the best alternatives for iPhone users. Motion X-GPS is ok, but I found the UI to be cluttered and not very intuitive for me. Plus, you have to pay for nav, and while it's not expensive, I found Waze is as good or better than Motion-X for nav, and Waze is free.
Anyone else have any good apps to share? Ray, how's the hiking app coming along?

Roadtrip!
I started using Car Minder (on iOS, not sure about others) to log all my maintenance, mods, and gas mileage. It's very handy for displaying graphs of fuel economy, etc, and all of the data can be exported, so I can print the records out if I ever sell the car. I'm pleased with it.

Spotify. Used to get up to date/almost any music. You do have to pay for it. But I use it everyday.
On iOS I alternate between Waze and Scout for nav. Road Ninja and Cost2Drive are great for long hauls on the interstate. Since premium fuel is a must GasBuddy gets a lot of use. CarMinder is a great one as well.
+1 for Waze. An impressive app considering its free.
