Bel Sti has a stealth version that has sensors mounted front and rear on the car, but the entire package is $1,200 to $1,500. I went with the standard STi which has been awesome......no need to hide it in Cali, as long as its not blocking your vision or attached to the windshield.

Not a big fan of Cobra detectors. The Bluetooth updates is a nice feature, however, as long as they keep them current.

I'll say I have a Passport 8500. Has paid for itself 10x over to date. I wouldn't consider it going to keep you from getting a ticket but a bit of piece of mind.
I will say that 9500 would be an upgrade for GPS and red light cameras if there are a lot in your area. For the most part I hear Valentine models are excellent as well.

Worst part about radar detectors are the wiring and no one wants a coiled wire on your dash all the time. Recommend hardwiring regardless of your model. If you don't have an option to tap into power supply on your mirror there are 3rd party wiring for different models. I did mine and if you get from the right company can come with a mute function that is often lost.

Keeping the mute as well as having the detector out of direct sight is awesome. Not to mention I also opted for the Blue LED that blinks when detector is going off.

The Bel Sti comes with a hard wire kit as well. But I use the coiled wired plug-in, since I move the detector when I drive my wife's SUV.

Same thing for me, for when driving my girlfriend's car I have the original coil as well.

New to the forum - pondering the "to detect or not to detect" question myself. I'm no kid at 40 - been driving my WRX for about 6 mo without a ticket...so far. Thinking about a V1 but wondering if simply having it mounted in my window is going to get me pulled over even at +9.
