    2011 wrx bluetooth nav

I feel like this is a stupid question, but I searched around and got nothing. Someone feel free to smack me if I am over looking the obvious.

So the bluetooth phone and everything works very well for talking and turning off my tunes when I get a call. That is fine... however, I like using my phone (android) for navigation since I didn't spring for the unit in the car (since I figured I can just use my phone, why spend the cash and then have to update it to boot) The other day, I typed in a destination and the phone was quiet (since it thought it was hooked up to the bluetooth) and the bluetooth didn't relay any of the directions to me via the stereo. Is there something brutally obvious I am missing here? As a side note, it also starts the music player on the phone as soon as the car starts up and it connects too.

    Thanks fellas.

So you're trying to get your phone to give you audio directions through the stereo? Clever.

I can understand the music player starting up every time...my understanding was that the BT stuff was just for phone calls or streaming music. Not sure I've heard of anyone running apps through it.

I haven't tried my BT yet but will give it a shot when I get a chance.

The only thing I think could do it for you would be to turn your stereo input to "BT-A" and see if that will play the sound for you.

If not...I don't see how it could work.

Well, that was easy. Thanks guys. I feel stupid now.

I honestly would love to put a nice after market nav in there, but it would bother me not having the factory bluetooth steering wheel controls working and the ipod dock in the armrest shot to hell. If i could get that working, i'd be sold. I'm sure someone who is braver than me will figure it out at some point. Until then, stock it is!

    Thanks again.

Yup. As long as you have it on BT-A, everything from the phone comes through. Just fire up Pandora instead of the ipod, and away I go.
