I managed to grab an 04 USDM STi cluster to swap into my '02 wrx. Lemme lay down the good and the bad
- Bought it for $90 bucks
- Everything but the tach works properly
- The tach doesn't work properly.
The person who I bought the cluster from had installed an aftermarket ECU in the vehicle, which then got a short. The short caused, I assume, this to happen. My tach was working on my USDM 2002 impreza cluster so I KNOW the tach readings are good from my end.

HERE'S WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR:
-Taken apart the cluster UP UNTIL taking out the tachometer potemeter. I took the glass shield off and played with the needle a little bit after I got frustrated trying to find a loose wire or something. No obvious burnouts.
Can I just get a new pot or whatever is the tach mechanism and plug it into the cluster? Thoughts? Suggestions?
