    stupid question but how do you remove the shift knob? i twisted untill loose and tugged hard but it doesnt come loose.

    Something's wrong, then. If you turn the knob counter-clockwise long enough, the knob should be sitting in your hand.

    i heard that you unscrew then tug. like unclipping the knob from the boot or something. is that the leather cloth part or the part the knob is attached to? no experience in this line of interior work

    no, keep unscrewing - there are threads keeping it on the actual stick. THEN loosen it from the boot and pull off.
