    '02 seat swap issues

I just swapped out my OEM seats for some other OEM seats with Leather. The new drivers seat leans too far back before the first latch catches and it is not comfortable to drive like that.

Any idea how to adjust where the first catch engages?

and in the switch the the dashboard "Security" light flashes always unless the key is in and on.

    Any suggestions?

    Fixed!

After taking the seat out and dissecting the hell out of it, I found a few problems and resolved them.

    1. It is easy to change the ratchet lean system out of the seat if you have to. You just have to remove the ratchet cover, undo some of the upholstery up to the the top bolt for the mechanism (about half-way up the side of the seat frame), and replace it in the same fashion,

    and

    2. The seat I bought was so FUBAR it wasn't even funny! The seat base was bent to hell and so was the ratchet lean mechanism.

If you ever purchase seats from someone, bring a measuring tape and do a corner to corner measure to see if the base is warped. If it is....it will be a pain in the ass to work with, but you have to be willing to do a bit extra!

    Good Luck
