    Shift Knob Thread

    I am planning on modeling my own shift knob in ProE and cutting it out with a CNC machine as a bit of a project. If I don't decide to take this route, I want to buy a big white weighted ball knob. I will post up some screens of my design once I have it done, but in the meantime, post some pictures and let everyone slob on your knobs!

    looking into get a new shift knob, what do you guys think of weighted ones? I've had my eye on this one for a while. Do weighted knobs really make the overall shift feel smoother?

    I had my hands all over Bill's knob for a few strokes at Cretinfest. It was a little thick for my tastes, but didn't get much time with it because JR wanted a turn.

    would kill for a leather/aluminum sti 5 speed knob in my 2011 wrx (got to try one out w/ the short throw in a 2011 they had on the lot)...but apparently they were backordered when I ordered my car. I got the duracon black sti knob instead...anyone have experience with duracon? I know it will be much lighter than the sti knob (I loved the weight of it).

    The problem with aluminum knobs is that they get so damn hot in the sun. Even with only the top of mine aluminum, it still gets really hot after sitting in the sun all day.

    It's actually worse in the winter. I put an old glove over mine in the cold.
