    Is it really THAT noticeable?
    YES!

    On my 2.0 liter ...

Stage 1 smoothed things out nicely. Not a huge difference in butt dyno power, but the power delivery was more uniform.

Stage 2 - WOW ... the tune Subaru should have given us! Much more lower end torque. I was able to "walk up" the hills in my commute using 4th gear instead of stock / stage 1 3rd gear.

Protune with a three port boost control solenoid. Stock boost increased from ~16 psi to a high of 19 psi. Read on ...

A tune on your 2.5 liter will be even better.

I have looked at some of the dynos from stage 2 09 WRX's and they seem pretty serious. ~280 awhp. Seems pretty nasty.

HP is nice ... torque is what you feel on the butt dyno.

You have been warned. A modification of your ECU is in your future.

    Enjoy either way.

I think the TQ numbers were near 300 as well. Does the 5 speed hold up to this? I dont launch the car, but under normal driving conditions will this shorten the life of anything?

They aren't that hard to put in if you want to do it yourself honestly.

I would think it would be more for seeing if you were hitting your target boost level. Even if it's just stock.

I would just get the accessport. That's what I use for my boost gauge. It's much more accurate than any other form of boost gauge because it's actually telling you what the sensor that the ECU uses says. That sensor is the same one that the car uses in it's tune.

Well, its all done and I think it looks/works pretty good. The needle is very steady until I turn up the bass a little bit. lol. Everything seems to be find, idles is areound 18,19,20 Hg. When I get on it it looks like peak is around 16PSI then it steadies out at about ~13ish.

The SPT gauge matches the car very nicely, looks very very OEM which I like. I added a crappy cell phone pic at the end.
