The back seats are mostly foam so there's not a lot of weight to lose there. They're pretty easy to remove though. Why are you trying to drop weight?

Our rear seats do not weigh 35lbs, closer to 20lbs.

Removal of the back seat is not difficult at all. IIRC, there are three bolts to remove for the bottom, and four bolts to remove for the back.

For a weight reduction the majority of interior weight is in the dash. Taking out rear seat really isnt going to help. 20-35 pounds isnt a whole lot. I mean to do a serious weight reduction you would have to take out door panels, roof liners, dash board, stereo, carpet, insulation and sound proofing, bla bla... But just a back seat really isnt worth the time IMHO...

You read your own post (I was even nice enough to quote it for you) - nowhere in there did you make mention of front/rear seats. This thread is about removal of the back seat. Before you make a "super smart" snide remark about my intelligence, if you're going to go off-topic, learn to get your point across in a clear fashion.

My personal opinion is that you are pointlessly antagonizing a well respected member who knows a lot more than just how much some seats weigh and doing it in a very distasteful manner. I would ask you to please adjust your attitude if you would like to fit in here.

i was just thinking about removing some things that i dont really use much at all to lighten up the car. the radio is almost useless, and im usually the only one in the car. but if its only going to be about 30 lbs than its not worth it to me
