for the low voltage that it is (12V) they will not bleed through. They do have saturation points but most are much greater than 12V, you could check when you bought them.

Yeah.. if anything the cubby would also light up with the dome which I can live with... Ill have to locate a wiring diagram and find a wire close to the cubby light that reacts with the dome...

So these run straight off the tray mood light? ie they're on all the time?

You could just run the two power lines with diodes like msedbaue said. Should be perfectly fine.

Only thing is, what are the footwell lights? Are they LEDs or incandescent bulbs? If they're LEDs they may behave funny with dimming/variable voltages.

The cubby light is only on when the driving lights or running lights are on.

The cubby light is an LED and copes with variable voltage will be fine.

Im 99.9% sure you can run less voltage to LED's without any issues. but as soon as you run to much voltage is when you run into problems.

Cool! Go for it then, I don't see why the diodes wouldn't work. You're not throwing a whole lot of power through them.

Yeah true.. BUt it would be a PITA to do the wiring and see a bleed over on to the dome light.

And the hardest part of it all will be finding the wire that triggers the dome when the doors are opened.

I'm happy to find out that they go on/off with the parking lights. Wonder how tough it would be to change the cubby led out for a red one? I dig the tactical look and I'm a little ocd so all the lighting has to match.

I was on travel recently for work and got a focus for a rental, god what a awful representation of a car that was. Anyhow.. the best feature of the car was the "mood" lighting. They really go to town though, the cup holders f/r are lit as well as the front/rear floors and the color is variable.

To just change the cubby light is a simple 30 second job... in fact our glove boxes have the red led's already... You can pop out the red led from teh glove box and switch it with the blue cubby hole. I haven't done this but I would think the two led's are the same...

It is very very simple. If you just wanted to change the cubbie light it would take you approximately 2 minutes.

your gb light is red? Mine is orange/amber.

is a red cubby light offered? I mean I could very well just get the spec on the led used and slam a red one in there.. but if one is offered that I can just swap in that'd be even better.

Oh, thought I caught it in one of the earlier posts.. but the floor lights dim with the dash lights correct?

sorry about all the goofy questions but I've really been into this Idea especially since the price is less than I spend for lunch over a weeks time

    its red ish...

Here is the part number for a red LED from subaru 66237SA120 Lamp Pocket (red cubbyhole LED)1

The footwell kit runs off the cubby.. so whatever the cubby does the footwell lights will do... This includes dimming with your dash... On off with your head lights

Hmm I walked out to look at mine and it is an off red more like amber... I would imagine that the led's are the same in the glove box and cubby... Why not go ahead and replace both then? or make your glove box blue
