i used to mount mine in the left corner of my windshield using one of those cheepo windshield cell-phone mounts
Suction Cup Windshield Vent Mount Holder w/ Photo Frame for Cell phone Apple iPhone First Generation MP3 MP4 iPod PDA GPS PSP

I ran the cable from the OBDII connector up under the dash and across the steering wheel to connect to the AP... it was a pretty clean setup but I had to plug/unplug the damn thing whenever I turned on/off my car.

Once upon a time, someone posted a similar topic on clubWRX, and there was a good write-up on how to wire the USB into the car electrical system so that the AP turned on/off when the car turned on/off if you're willing to risk it... might wanna search for it in the forums.

    Cheers

After my car and my accessport got married (what a beautiful day that was) I keep it in my lap or my hand if I'm trying to watch it then put it away for safe keeping in the center console. This kind of thing prevents the usb cable or OBD connector from getting brokeded.

    Mine is amazing!

I used extremely high end velcro to mount it to the right of the gauge cluster (to the left of the A/C vent)

Then I purchased a "flat" retractible USB cord. Pulled the face of the gauge cluster out (2 screws)... and ran the cord through the slit. I then unplugged the OBDII port from the underside of the dash, and secured it, and the accessport dongle to the metal that sits right inside the dash with the same velcro.

I was too for a while. Now I think I am going to switch to the HKS camp2 system on a dvd screen.

I had a friend do that, but I didn't like the look of the wire.

Hmm... maybe I could save myself some money and just get a wireless usb instead of buying a dvd screen and the camp system.

What is the possible harm in leaving the AP plugged in? I only unplug it if my car is going to be parked for a long time so that the light on the screen doesnt attract someone to break into the car. I cant imagine it will drain your battery over night right?

i always unplug mine...unless im just running into a store real fast or something....i would unplug it over night though.
i cant think of a reason why though
i just feel like it would be better for to be turned off when not in use.

i dont see why cobb just didnt make them turn off once you turned your car off
